Systems

Systems are modeled with the system marker tag. Systems the logical structure of buildings meant to group multiple equip that serve a similar purpose. The members of a system do not necessarily have to be in the same physical space. For example, a Chilled Water System may consist of equipment within the Chilled Water Plant, but also Air Handlers with Chilled Water Coils fed by that plant. Systems do not represent a physical structure unless also paired with an equip tag (e.g., if system is used in conjunction with a plant-equip).

Tags

System entities should define a siteRef tag for their parent tag. All systems subtype from system and are then kebab cased with other valid tags to create the conjunct (e.g., chilled-water-system).

It is also valid for systems to define a systemRef tag to describe a sub-system or primary/secondary relationship. This relationship would imply logical containment, i.e., all members of a sub-system automatically belong to the referent system as well.
